Background

Poverty, social vulnerability, Environmental degradation and unsustainable business strategies have become a vicious circle that ought to be broken. The projects looks to consolidate an integrated framework from sociology ( Social Theories of Risk) and Management ( stakeholders theory, institutional theory, entrepreneurship) to address risks and uncertainties arising from poverty and environmental degradation in developing countries. The project also aims to identify those management tools and/or approaches that can reduce social vulnerability while also reducing (or at least not increasing) environmental risk. Then analyse how they can applied by businesses in areas where social vulnerability and environmental deterioration is high.
