Sustainable Consumption of Automobility

Dr Paul Nieuwenhuis, Dr Peter Wells.
Sustainable Consumption of Automobility; The concept of SCP, now part of a UN programme and the Marakech Process, has become embedded in academic sustainable business thinking. Though many academics struggle with applying the concept to the automotive sector, BRASS has embraced it and it is now one of the key areas of research within BRASS. Projects range from the culture of SUVs to the long life consumption of cars by the classic car movement. We also include an historical dimension to our work, because understanding how the current pattern of consumption came to be constructed is important to understanding how new patterns can be established.
